Counterstrike League Information

CyberAthlete Amateur League (CAL):

Founded in March of 2001, CAL is the most popular league in the CS world. It not only entertains CS players, but also provides a competitive gaming environment for other first person shooter games including Quake and DoD. The original league was launched with just one Counter-Strike division and has since expanded to include nearly twenty league divisions and more than 35,000 registered users. Their CS has four divisions: Open, Intermediate, Main, and Invite with a draft area for individuals who are yet being "discovered." Basic Rules to Qualify for Moveups: must fulfull the following -- no more than (1) 1 forfeit win (forfeit wins CAN be made up should this occur multiple times, contact an administrator and leader of another clan who has also earned a forfeit win) -- (2) no more than one loss (two losses are permissible in the past, in extreme circumstances, rounds won/loss are considered in this case) -- (3) at LEAST six wins. Clans that make it to the playoffs are already assumed to have moved up next season. Length of Season: Cal league has four seasons, with approximately a 2 month break during summer. One season consists of two pre-season games and eight regular games. Registration: Changes to player rosters are open during wednesdays after the season has started. Prior, it is more or less open all week. By week six, NO changes are permissible. Website: www.caleague.com

United Gaming Syndicate (UGS):

The goals of UGS are similar to most gaming leagues, just like CAL. In the case of UGS, in most cases champions are basically "guaranteed" a server sponsor (under the conditions of their terms of agreement). mIRC is a requirement in UGS, unlike CAL (CAL strongly recommends that you have one). Registration: seven rostered members for open and main divisions and six players for advanced and invite divisions. Each division, just like CAL is broken up into subdivisions. Length of Season: Season is eight weeks long. Basic Rules to Qualify for Moveups: Open division playoffs consist of the top 36 clans. Clans can even be moved down from a higher to lower division. Moveup policies are subject to change from season to season. Website: www.ugsleague.com

If you would like a particular league to show up on this page so that you can get other clans to participate in them, we encourage you to email us with the above information.
