| 11.9.2003: Courtesy of CAL. Apparently an admin was removed today because of his use of hacks. I hope this also serves as a warning here in Krazed Alloys; we do NOT tolerate the use of cheats.

Nick Iannotti, a member of the Anti-Cheat Team has been caught cheating in his playoff match against eS. He will be suspended for two years and be removed from his position as a CAL Admin. This will have absolutely no effect on any past cheating disputes due to our procedures in place for cheating accusations. To clarify, it has always taken at least three of the Anti-Cheat Admins to convict a player for cheating. To put myths aside, when a match is disputed, an admin requests the demos. If it is thought to be suspicious, another admin will watch it and so on. It takes much deliberation for someone to be convicted of cheating. No one person is responsible for any and all cheating convictions, to avoid accusations of prejudice and for checks and balances to confirm before any suspensions are handed down.
Please understand that the Cyberathlete Amateur League takes all cheating disputes seriously and does not take into account the position a player may or may not have while investigating them.

10.25.2003: Steam has caused many problems for the gaming community at large, and some bugs are still be worked out. In response, there is now a trouble shooting forum to get solutions to your problems, whether they be real life related or online. Post away, and hopefully someone can offer you a wise solution.
9.19.2003: Steam has been backlogged and bombarded with millions of gamers downloading their latest updates which seemingly occur daily. People on dial-up will be dealt with harshly with the newly released CS 1.6 version. Virtually all servers now are running on version 1.6, save a few who are run on a personal computer of the avid gamer. Regardless, the WON system gets taken down very soon, and by that time, all players will be forced to upgrade. Most gamers already have the newly released steam product; if you're not sure what you need to download to get the help you need, visit our forums and post away.
9.11.2003: Big news of course in the CS world, with version 1.6 CS and Steam coming up. The WON system will be broken down in the next coming weeks as Valve transitions to a smoother Steam engine. Be sure everyone downloads the files at The Official Steam Site - please go there for further information. CS 1.6 will change strategies with new m4-like weapons, 1 new weapon per side. The riot shield will also take effect as well. Plan accordingly.
9.1.2003: With cal already in its second week, attention is continually given to the prestigious invite level. Even without big names Sunman and Volcano, zEx still manages to do well against its competitors. Current record: 3-0. Proving predictions false by Arc and Surge, both of whom foresaw a loss for zEx, we will see how they manage against 3D. It shouldn't be much of a surprise afterall; just because they lost their best players doesn't render the remaining players useless. Or does it? :) Anyhow, good job to zEx who pulled off a pounding 19 to 5 score without their former "big name" players. Many predictions were proven false (and many correct) - 3D pulled a very narrow lead over GB...13 to 11.
8.30.2003: With the cal season already in full swing, teams not only in open are having their rosters redone. Changes to your favorite and "dream" teams up in Invite have also been experiencing some major changes. With Gamers-X and esT no longer competing, Third Dimension Online and United 5 have been moved up from Main to replace the departed teams. When asked what clan most people will be watching closely, many replied with renowned clans such as Agent, 3D, and zEx. However how will zEx be affected by the departure of four of their six starting lineup? Will Titus and Silk be able to keep zEx alive? And will The Stomping Grounds be a clan making its name even more outspoken with the addition of former zEx members Sunman and Volcano? All this and more will come with time...See: www.gotfrag.com for more information.
8.28.2003: With CS version 1.6 being released in January, clan tactics across the board will be forever changed with the addition of the new Riot Shield and two new weapons. The much anticipated (or if you don't like the changes...dreaded) release of 1.6 introduces the CT's newest defense device. Enjoy.
8.27.2003: It's old news by now, but team SK (Schroet Kommando of Sweden) won over Team Nine. North American teams including 3D and zEx didn't fair as well, however 3D placed third at CPL. Check out http://csnation.counter-strike.net for more information.
8.26.2003: People can now book personal lessons from some of the best players in North America namely from noted clans such as 3D and zEx. It will be done just like any other "offline" sport. Presented by E-Sports Entertainment Association. Visit http://www.esportsea.com to book your personal lesson today. |
